Will Mellor has shared his daughter is “scared to go out” because of the riots across the UK.
The former Strictly star said 16-year-old Renee came to him with her worries over the disorder on the UK’s streets, which was triggered by last month’s stabbings in Southport. Posting a video message on X, he said as a result he felt he had to speak out.
“When my daughter is scared to go out I have to say something!!” wrote the star, who is also dad to 20-year-old son Jayden with his wife Michelle.

In the clip, Will was out for a walk and he told fans he’d headed out for coffee and to clear his head. “I’m just sick of waking up to all this horrible, negative, hateful s***e on social media,” he said.
“Mostly from faceless accounts that I am muting by the second. But it’s just horrible to read and see and the news… You know my daughter came to me the other day and she was scared about going out because of everything that’s going on the streets of England. That’s wrong man.
“I mean how can we not all see that all we are is people. That’s all we are. The actions of a few don’t represent the rest.”
The TV star went on: “There are bad eggs in every single culture and we need to sort that out. But the only way we do that is by coming together as people.”
“Come on man,” urged the Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps star. “We can do better than this.” “It’s a joke,” he added.
Violence and vandalism occurred in Southport after misinformation was spread regarding the suspect arrested for stabbing three young girls to death on July 29. Primary school girls Bebe King, Alice da Silva Aguiar and Elsie Dot Stancombe were killed as they attended a Taylor Swift-themed dance class and several others were injured.
Axel Muganwa Rudakubana, 17, from Banks in Lancashire has been charged with three counts of murder and 10 counts of attempted murder. Riots fuelled by anti-immigration sentiment have broken out in towns and cities across England and in Northern Ireland – PM Keir Starmer has branded it “far-right thuggery”.
