Sugababes stun commuters with surprise King’s Cross gig

King’s Cross commuters couldn’t believe their eyes when the Sugababes popped up from a billboard for a surprise gig right at the station.

The chart-toppers performed a live rendition of their 2005 hit, ‘Push the Button’, as they appeared from behind elevator doors, mirroring their famous track’s music video.

The original Sugababes trio—Mutya, Keisha, and Siobhan—were all in on the stunt, celebrating Sky Broadband’s new 24/7 switching support service.

A new promo video sees the girls as the ‘Suga Broadband Babes’, charming Sky bosses with their hits to seal a deal. The Sugababes shared their thrill: “We had so much fun surprising everyone at King’s Cross today as the Suga Broadband Babes. It’s great to see people loving ‘Push the Button’.”

Sky’s survey of 2,000 Brits found out what people would love at a push of a button: 36% dream of zapping away to a vacation spot, while 34% would buff up instantly.

From scrubbing the bathroom to tackling the laundry, Brits are desperate for a magic button that would make dreary chores disappear. A 6% even wish they could magic away the hassle of changing broadband providers.

Those who do toy with the idea of switching internet providers typically stew over the decision for nearly five months before taking the plunge. The ordeal proves challenging for 32% of switchers.

Despite this, internet users on average have only switched providers three times in the last ten years, but that doesn’t stop 28% from considering a fresh change. Nearly half (46%) would be keener on switching if they didn’t have to deal with their current network provider.

Sky Connectivity’s managing director Amber Pine said: “Just like the Sugababes, we know a thing or two about switching.”

She added, “That’s why we’ve launched our dedicated 24/7 switching support service, so customers can get through to a real person for help any time day, or night.”
