The Chase’s Bradley Walsh gasps at explicit remark as player left with their head in hands

The Chase host Bradley Walsh was not too impressed over a cheeky moment on the show.

The hit ITV gameshow was back on TV screens on Tuesday (May 7) as telly legend Bradley welcomed four new quizzers. As fans tuned in, he introduced contestants Jenny, Adrian, Michael and Dot before they battled it out to take home the all-important cash prize.

This week the quartet were up against Darragh Ennis, also known as The Menace, who made sure to bring his A-game against the wise quizzers. But things took an awkward turn when Darragh dropped a rather crude comment.

After player Jenny was booted from the show, up the face to Chaser second, was Adrian, a sign language interpreter. During his cash-builder he answered seven questions correctly and then went head-to-head with Darragh.

Darragh was trying to take the players out

In a cheeky moment on the beloved ITV show, and after walking on-set to play the game, Darragh took aim at host Bradley. He told Adrian: “Now I would get you to sign some of Brad’s jokes.

“But those kinds of hand signals aren’t allowed on daytime TV,” he quipped. Adrian giggled: “Oh dear,” as host Bradley gasped in shock not knowing where to look while tapping his fingers on the podium.

One player had their head in their hands

Meanwhile player Dot, who was sitting at the table, popped her head in her hands at The Chaser’s remark. Trying to move swiftly on, Bradley said: “Right, put some money on the table.” In the end, Adrian managed to make it through to the Final Chase with £7,000.

Player three Michael did the same and added £6,000 to the prize fund. And the final player Dot also made it through with £5,000, meaning the total cash prize up for grabs was £18,000.

Bradley was gasping at the remark

In the rather tense Final Chase, Adrian, Michael and Dot managed to get 20 questions correct in the time given. And when it came to Darragh all eyes were on him as he attempted to beat the players.

Ultimately, Darragh caught the team with one second remaining leaving them gutted. Fans online reacted to the result, with one person on X, formerly known as Twitter, writing: “They deserved to win tbh.” Someone else added: “So close!”
