James Buckley got royally stitched up by his bosses on the set of The Inbetweeners Movie.
The 36-year-old actor played sex-obsessed liar Jay Cartwright in the iconic E4 sitcom. But fans of the comedy might not know that he had a “horrible c***” superimposed onto his body during a famous scene in the 2011 film.
It turns out James didn’t want to his actual manhood exposed during the famous poolside scene where Jay gets his trunks pulled down by a young boy. The star had annoyed his bosses by refusing to fully commit to the trunks scene and demanding he got a penis double instead.

Inbetweeners writer Damon Beesley admitted he got a “little vicious delight” in getting revenge on James by giving the actor what some might describe as an unflattering member. In the scene, Jay’s bid to impress a group of girls by the pool fails dramatically.
The boy yanks down his trunks and cries: “So little, so little”. Jay loses his temper and pushes the boy into the water, prompting other holidaymakers to jump in and rescue him, much to jay’s embarrassment.
Joe Thomas, who played Simon in the series, and Damon dished on the scene during a chat on Richard Herring’s Leicester Square Theatre Podcast. Joe joked: “If we didn’t have had to spend that money on James’s fake penis, we could have had a dinosaur or something.”

Damon said: “The most expensive effect in the film is where we had to drop in a shot of a penis double for James Buckley. Why it was annoying for us was because he’d had the script for about eight months and obviously hadn’t read it.
“And then when we were in rehearsals we got a call from his agent saying: ‘He’s not going to do the nudity.’ We went: ‘Well, it’s a bit late for that because we’d scheduled it all.’

He continued: “We found someone in Majorca, where we filmed, who would do it. I said to James we’d had a double. We had to shoot a shot where James is there with his trunks on. Then we shot the exact same shot but with the penis double in there naked. Then we had to composite those together.
“I think James thought it would go: here’s James, then there’s a shot from behind of the trunks, then there would be a close-up and you’d never know it was James.
“But really you can do this digitally. It’s a full-length body shot of James but someone with a much more horrible c**k than James – superimposed. Nobody knows it’s not his. So I had a little vicious delight in that.”
