This Morning fans threaten to ‘turn off’ as they beg Dermot O’Leary to calm down

Fans of This Morning were left in a rather irritable mood as they threatened to “turn off” due to Dermot O’Leary’s overly cheerful demeanor and overreactions.

Dermot and his co-host Alison Hammond were back in the famous ITV studio on Friday (January 12) following some time away. But fans were clearly undivided about their comeback as they headed over to social media to share their thoughts.

A continuous complaint that fans seemed to share was regarding Dermot’s behavior- who was clearly excited to be back on viewers’ screens. Fans seemed to think Dermot, who previously presented shows such as The X Factor and Big Brother’s Bit on the Side, was behaving “childish”.

Another penned: “Oh God, Dermot again on @thismorning Irraitating!! Makes me turn off.” A third chimed in and wrote: “Dermot is annoying me already. Acting the clown.”

Meanwhile, another viewer seemed to have had enough and wrote: “I lasted 30 minutes. Can’t deal with Dermot. Have a good day y’all.”

But some viewers didn’t seem to mind Dermot and Alison back on their screens but still appeared to prefer Craig Doyle and Josie Gibson who dominated the show this week from Monday to Thursday. The spectator said: “I don’t mind Allison and Dermot but much prefer Craig and Josie.”

Viewers seemed to turn on Dermot

Dermot seemingly rubbed viewers up the wrong way when he appeared to overreact and talk over Dr Karan Raj’s segment. Regular guest Dr Karan appeared on the show to debunk a number of medical myths.

He also gave viewers tips on small things we can all do to improve our health overall. But throughout the segment, Dermot couldn’t stop fidgeting and speaking over Dr Karan.

Dermot caused uproar during a particular segment

Seeing the commotion, one viewer said: “Trying to listen to Dr Karan but he’s interrupted by Dermot who can’t sit still. What’s wrong with him?”

“‘Put the spoon down Dermot. Stop throwing the apple in the air Dermot. Stop distracting Dermot. Don’t squeak your chair Dermot. Sit on your hands Dermot.’ A day in the life of a @thismorning director when O’Leary is presenting the show.”
