This Morning in huge shake-up as Alison Hammond replaced by Holly Willoughby ‘clone’

This Morning fans were left “baffled” after they’d expected to see Alison Hammond return to screens on Monday 5th February.

Fans had become confused after witnessing adverts that had advised the former Big Brother star would have been reunited with her co-star Dermot O’Leary all week. However that wasn’t the case.

Instead the ex-X Factor presenter was teamed up with Saturday’s songstress Mollie King with online users comparing her to Holly Willoughby as they branded her as the Dancing On Ice stars “clone”.

Fans wonder where Alison is after mishap

The comments section on X – formerly known as Twitter- was riddled with comments over the shock shake-up along with many pinpointing Mollie’s uncanny resemblance to the former This Morning star. One person said: “Omgg why did i think Molly was holly? wtf #clone #ThisMorning,”

Meanwhile others were left confused over the last minute switch up, with one comment reading: “What’s happened to Alison thought it was her and Dermot all week #ThisMorning,” a second agreed: “Hey… I thought it was Dermot & Alison all this week! The promotions said so! #ThisMorning,” while another stated: “I thought it was meant to be Dermot and Alison all this week? According to the constant adverts! #ThisMorning.”

Back in October, TV star Holly, 42, announced she was quitting This Morning after a man had been arrested over alleged plans to kidnap and murder her. In an emotional statement released at the time, she said: ““I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning.”

Holly added: “To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much. This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together.

“Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive. To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you.”

Meanwhile, last fans were pleasantly surprised to see Radio 2 star Rylan Clarke and Rochelle Humes presenting together on This Morning, with both Dermot and Alison missing from their usual posts. It is believed that the Brummy star was busy finishing up her Panto stint while her co-star had taken some time out too.
