Alison Hammond tickled This Morning co-host Dermot O’Leary when she admitted she has pretended to be pregnant to get a seat on a train.
The presenter made the confession on Friday’s instalment of the ITV show (May 10), as she was chatting to show regular Gyles Brandreth. The 76-year-old was saying that people had started to give up their seats for him when he was on public transport.
Alison was envious, sharing that it never happened to her. She explained that she usually ended up standing for ages as people never offered up their seats.

Laughing, she leaned over and held her tummy as if she had a baby bump and told the others: “I can’t wait for it to happen to me. They never offer me a seat, I’ll be standing there for ages. Pretend to look pregnant and they are still not moving!”

“I am standing there for ages and my feet are killing me!” she exclaimed, as the others roared with laughter. Alison, 49, also said she didn’t think people wanted her to sit with her on the train because “half of my big butt” takes up their space. But Dermot wasn’t having any of it, and told his co-host everyone would want to sit with her.

Viewers were pleased to see the pair hosting the daytime show on Friday, with several posting messages on X saying they were their favourite This Morning stars. “I’m so glad it’s Dermot n Alison they are a laugh from start to finish so just in case the producers read Twitter like it said in newspaper, yr ratings will plummet if u dnt gt someone like these 2 to take over show,” one said.
“My fav duo is back,” said another. “And Alison is looking amazing.” “Glad these two are on… happy vibes…” said someone else.

However, a couple seemed to be annoyed by the fact that Alison and Dermot started Friday’s programme by dancing into the TV studio. The pair whirled in to music, and when they didn’t think they’d had enough of a welcome, they left and came back to do it again. “Oh for f**** sake, f*** off with your f****** dancing, all the f****** time…” sniped one.
