Titanic’s alternate ending ‘so unbelievably bad’ fans ‘wish they never saw it’

Movie fans are horrified at Titanic’s deleted alternate ending.

The original plot twist revealed that Rose, played by Gloria Stuart, actually had the Heart of the Ocean necklace the whole time – but what she decides to do with it has set Titanic fans reeling. A clip of the scene has been doing the rounds on social media with baffled viewers rushing to share their thoughts.

In the video, Rose stands at the end of the ship as Lizzy and Brock run to stop her from jumping over. However, this wasn’t her intention at all as she begins to explain: “Oh, I’ve thought about this for years and I’ve come all this way to put it back where it belongs.”

Rose holds the blue gemstone necklace over the side of the boat, hanging mere metres above the freezing depths below. Brock urges her to wait with a panicked look on his face as he begs to “just hold it in his hand”.

Rose allows Brock to clutch it in his palm as he whispers: “My god,” before Rose quips: “You look for treasure in the wrong place, Mr Lovett. Only life is priceless and making each day count.”

She then takes the chain back from his hand as Brock reluctantly pulls away. Suddenly, Rose cheekily throws the Heart of the Ocean over her shoulder with a smile on her face as the rest of the boat crew panic and cry: “Jesus, no!”

Fans claimed that the alternate ending would have “ruined the film for them”

The dramatic script, cheesy music and questionable acting left X/Twitter users in complete shock at what they’d just seen. One person said: “That is truly unbelievable. I had no idea that even existed!”

“Cameron isn’t a great writer of dialogue, but this is Hallmark Christmas special level of bad,” quipped another film fan as someone else chimed in: “OMG I thought this was a joke, lol. WOW.”

Many even asked if the clip was AI generated, with one tweet reading : “I legit wondered if this was an AI creation. It is film-ruiningly bad.” Another savage critic wrote: “I wish I never saw this. This is so bad it’s like a parody.”
