Oasis are “set to reunite” after a “secret agreement” was made.
According to reports, it is looking likely the pair will take to the stage and rock Glastonbury in 2025, with brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher reportedly burying their long-standing beef for the iconic festival. The duo are tipped to take the event by storm along with a string of massive gigs in London and Manchester.
The news won’t be a surprise to hardcore fans, who have been noticing hints springing up on social media for months. One clue was found at Liam Gallagher’s gig at the London O2 Arena back on June 10.
As the younger Gallagher bother played classics to mark the 30th anniversary of Definitely Maybe, an audience member was distracted by the sign in front of them.
Electric with excitement that the pair could finally be heading towards a truce, they took to X to share a theory. Along with a snap of the view from their seat, they wrote: “I’m in a hospitality box at #LiamGallagher and I’ve just seen this on a seat in front of mine.”
The notice said “Reserved for Noel Gallagher” – but sadly, Noel was a no-show. The concertgoer said he must have been “in disguise” if he did come to watch the gig.
The tweet garnered hundreds of likes at the time, with plenty of commenters exclaiming “omg” and getting excited for a comeback. But others weren’t convinced by the theory. A sceptical fan claimed on the post: “Liam leaves one at every show, in the hope that one day, one day, Noel will show up.”
Oasis, the iconic British rock band, split up in August 2009. The breakup was confirmed after a backstage altercation between the Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam, just before they were due to perform at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris.
Noel Gallagher announced his departure from the band on August 28, 2009, citing irreconcilable differences with his brother Liam as the primary reason for his decision to leave. This event effectively marked the end of Oasis as a band – until now, that is!
