Will Mellor makes Strictly ‘curse’ confession and admits he and wife ‘split up’

Will Mellor has made a candid confession about the notorious “Strictly curse”.

The TV star, 48, has spoke out for the first time since his wife passed comment about their numerous splits. The revelation came during a live podcast tour with fellow actor Ralf Little, titled Two Pints With Will and Ralf, at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall.

Ralf playfully probed: “I believe there’s a thing called the curse of Strictly. Your wife’s not into that!” The audience was on edge, eagerly awaiting Will’s response.

“My wife was at every rehearsal!” Will shot back quickly. Ralf, fully aware she was in attendance, humorously mimicked someone saying through gritted teeth: “Every time, she was like, ‘Great, great, it’s really going well!”

Discussing the chemistry needed for the show, Will explained: “I do get it – obviously to sell it and to make the dances work, you’re pretending there’s a real sensuality.

He added: “There’s got to be chemistry there,” before Ralf asked: “Can you see why?”

“Oh I get it, I get it – because if you’re two single people and you work with each other six or seven hours a day every day, you’ve got all these emotions,” Will confessed, reports the Mirror.

Despite the banter, Will and his wife Michelle are couple goals, marking their 25th anniversary this year with two kids, Jayden, 20, and Renee, 16. On the Two Pints podcast with Ralf Little, Will spilled the beans about their past struggles, admitting they “split up loads of times along the way” and that “long distance relationships are tough at first”.

The pair eventually tied the knot in 2007 and have been living the dream ever since. But Ralf couldn’t help but rib his pal about the so-called Strictly curse, suggesting he’d get a bit steamy himself if he got up close and personal with Will on the dance floor.

“I can see with the way that you dance… you pull each other close and you’re face to face that close to each other… you must be thinking, ‘I’ve got to kiss her,'” Ralf teased.

Watching Will’s Strictly moves, he claimed anyone would feel the heat: “Honestly, I was watching [your Strictly performances] and I defy anyone to not feel that… I’d dance like that with you and f*****g feel that!

“Will retorted: “No you f*****g wouldn’t! ” but then acknowledged: “It’s a fair point.” Ralf had the crowd in stitches as he confessed he’d watched a compilation of Will’s most emotional Strictly moments.

Poking fun he jested: “I swear to you, it’s just a video of him crying every episode – at one point, he looks at the camera and he’s like, [simulates crying] ‘I’m sorry kids, I’m alright’. I’m like, ‘Who are you f***ing talking to? “.

In response, Will confessed that his tears were for his daughter, who was hosting a Strictly party at home, admitting: “I get very emotional!”. In a dramatic end to their show, Ralf mimicked Will’s Strictly scenes, wearing a dress and dancing on stage with him.
