The murder of Hollywood legend Rob Reiner and his wife Michele has taken a sinister twist, as their son Nick, 32, has been arrested and charged with their brutal double homicide
The disturbing case of the death of Rob Reiner and his wife Michele has become even more sinister as their son, Nick, has been arrested as a suspect. The 32-year-old has consequently been charged with the shocking double murder of his legendary film director father and producer mother.
After a chilling trail of blood was found at a Santa Monica motel, shocking pictures of Nick being arrested have been released. Footage further shows the dramatic moment the suspect was forced to the ground and handcuffed.
The bombshell photographs further expose Nick being put in the back of a police car by armed officers in Los Angeles.
Nick was arrested near a Los Angeles Metro station, just 15 miles from his parents’ Brentwood mansion where the Hollywood power couple were found brutally murdered on Sunday (December 14) afternoon. The youngest son of When Harry Met Sally director Rob Reiner, 78, and his wife Michele, 68, had reportedly been staying at The Pierside Santa Monica motel, where horrified staff called police after stumbling upon a “disturbing trail of blood” in his room.
Armed officers from the LAPD’s robbery homicide division, with help from US Marshals, swooped in to arrest Nick, who was then “hit with murder charges over the death of his mother and father” and is now being held without bail at the notorious Twin Towers Correctional Facility, The Sun reported.
LAPD Gang and Narcotics Unit briefly posted arrest photos online, labelling Nick as “a double homicide suspect” before hastily deleting the images. The grim discovery was made by Nick’s younger sister Romy, 28, who reportedly found their parents in their Hollywood home with their throats allegedly slashed.
A chilling 911 call reportedly captured the chaos as dispatchers “begged for help after discovering the bodies of the legendary director and his producer wife”. Rob Reiner reportedly had a row with his son at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas house party just hours before he was found stabbed to death alongside his wife, the Daily Star previously reported.
Reiner had booked a massage on the day he and his wife died, but did not answer the door. This prompted the couple’s daughter Romy, who lived across the road, to enter her parents’ home, where she made the horrifying discovery that they had been stabbed to death.
Reiner, his wife Michele, and their son Nick had attended O’Brien’s party in Los Angeles on Saturday evening. The group had gotten into a “very loud argument” which other guests could hear.
Reiner and Michele left the party shortly afterwards, but it is not known if Nick left with his parents. On Sunday, the couple allegedly had their throats slit after a heated argument with a relative.
Romy, Reiner’s youngest child, told police that a family member “should be a suspect” because they are “dangerous”. Authorities arrested Nick on Sunday afternoon and booked him for felony murder on Monday morning.
They are now questioning Nick, who is being held on a $4million bail.
