An Emmerdale couple could be set to call things quits soon
Emmerdale spoilers seem to hint at a shocking break up looming in the village.
Charity (played by Emma Atkins) and Mackenzie (portrayed by Lawrence Robb) are one of the soap’s beloved duos. The couple first got together back in 2021 and eventually tied the knot a few years later. However, their romance hasn’t been all smooth sailing, with a baby revelation from Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) in 2023 causing quite a stir for the pair.
Despite this hiccup, they reconciled and have remained a couple since. Recently though, Charity’s granddaughter Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) has been facing her own battles.
Eager to become a mother, she was devastated to learn she had cancer and required a hysterectomy. This week, Charity offered to be a surrogate for Sarah, making it clear she doesn’t intend to inform Mackenzie anytime soon, reports Belfast Live.
But next week’s spoilers reveal that Mack discovers Charity’s decision – and he’s far from pleased. In fact, he’s so upset that he threatens to call time on their marriage.
In the upcoming episodes, Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) spills the beans to Mack about Charity’s surrogacy offer for Sarah. Stunned, Mack seeks more information and during a heated row, Charity stands her ground regarding her decision.
Jacob’s (played by Joe-Warren Plant) is left reeling as Pollard betrays his trust, but Pollard remains resolute, warning Jacob he’s making a grave error.
As Jacob lashes out at his grandfather, Sarah accuses Eric of having an issue with her grandmother, but Pollard confesses his real worry is her reduced life expectancy.
Meanwhile, Mack is heartbroken by Charity’s willingness to carry Sarah’s baby but not his. Unable to reach an agreement, the couple are distressed. Later that day, Charity receives news that the clinic will attempt insemination.
As Sarah expresses concern about potential conflicts between Charity and Mack, a resolute Charity reassures her she’ll be able to persuade him.
However, a frustrated Mack presents Charity with an ultimatum: it’s either the surrogacy or their marriage.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
