Helen Flanagan has been harshly criticised by online trolls after she donned her most glamorous attire for a night out with her boyfriend Robbie Talbot and his 14 year old daughter Sophie. The trio attended the launch of Kyma Nightclub in Crosby, a relaxed event designed to help Helen bond with Robbie’s daughter.
Helen, who clearly relished the evening, posted a charming photo on Instagram where she and Sophie were seen laughing and smiling for the camera. Dressed elegantly in a black velvet mini dress adorned with diamanté detail, Helen paired her outfit with sheer glossy tights, while Sophie chose a vibrant red mini dress.
Despite their evident enjoyment, critics lambasted Helen’s decision to go out, as her own young children were not present. “Where’s the boyfriend? Hope the kids are being looked after,” one troll commented, taking a swipe at the mum for daring to have fun without her children , reports the Mirror.
However, Helen’s fans quickly rallied around the former Coronation Street star, shutting down any criticism as soon as it surfaced. One even sarcastically retorted: “No she left them alone. Jesus mums not allowed a night out! “.
A slew of supporters came to the rescue following a troll’s bitter comment about Helen Flanagan. One person fumed: “What the F is wrong with you? Its none of your business where her kids are! ! ! ” Another chimed in: “Would you say the same thing to a father? Get a grip.”
Yet another defender shot back, saying: “Are you saying once a woman has children she can never leave the house? ? ? ! ! ! ” And there was more outrage as one user scolded: “Seriously? ? ? Do you think women should be tied to the kitchen sink. Have you never gone out without your kids. Grow up.”
Choosing not to let a single negative vibe ruin the mood around Helen’s post, fans showered both Helen and Sophie with an array of lovely remarks. Among the praises were comments like: “You both are Absolutely Stunning” and “Gorgeous night”.
Helen, mum of Matilda, nine, Delilah, six, and Charlie, three from her relationship with ex-fiancé Scott Sinclair, enjoyed a grand night out. Robbie also has his own brood – Sophie and Carina, 10, with an ex-partner.
Sadly, it isn’t the first-time Helen’s been on the receiving end of mum-shaming. She turned heads at the 2023 British Fashion Awards sporting a racy sheer black number down the red carpet – a choice that some of her followers deemed unsuitable for a mum.
One follower had previously commented: “Think more of flashing your t*ts than your kids”. Another user also criticised her outfit, saying: “Why do we have to be half naked now to get attention? What happened to being classy? Looks like she has a lingerie set on, forgot the time then put on a skirt in a hurry.”
Despite the negative comments, Helen has remained unaffected, instead focusing on spending quality time with her children away from the public eye.
She has previously spoken about her close relationship with her daughter Delilah, writing: “She brings me so much happiness, very lucky to be her mama.”
