Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy has broken her silence on social media after it was revealed the American model will not inherit a penny of the late star’s £24million fortune
Kate Cassidy has finally broken her social media silence amidst revelations that she won’t see a penny of Liam Payne’s £24million fortune.
Liam tragically died last October at the young age of 31 after a fatal fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires. Initially, five individuals were charged in connection with his passing, but now only two face charges as three, including Liam’s mate Roger Nores, have been cleared.
The valuation of Liam’s fortune started at a whopping £28,595,000, later whittled down to £24,280,000 once debts and expenses were accounted for. Recent court documents dated May 1 show that since Payne left no last testament, his former flame Cheryl Tweedy—mother to their eight year old son Bear—is in charge of wrangling his assets, supported by music legal eagle Richard Bray as co-administrator.
According to UK intestacy law, it’s Liam Payne’s boy, Bear, who’s set to inherit his dad’s riches in a trust. An insider revealed to The Mail: “Liam had some very sensible people around him for a time and he adored Bear so much. He always wanted to do the right thing by him financially. It is a small consolation that Bear will never want for anything, that he will at least benefit from that.”
Looks like Kate, the American beauty who was Liam’s plus one for a couple of years, isn’t in line for a slice of the Payne fortune. The model dropped a cheeky post on Instagram just moments after the sad news that Liam had passed without penning a will, reports the Mirror.
Kate gave her 900k followers a cheeky little peek into her handbag life, flaunting a snap of her essentials – a Starbucks bite and her trusty hair extensions from @glamseamless – with the playful taunt: “What’s in your purse? ? ? Mine: starbucks and @glamseamless.”
Before Payne’s tragic departure, his 24 year old beau Cassidy remained steadfast at his side. While cloaked in sorrow, she’s still dazzling on the ‘Gram, sharing snazzy snaps from her Miami Grand Prix adventure.
Cassidy wowed with a sassy black faux-leather top, chill denim shorts, and a fiery red Ferrari cap. After posting a rainbow pic, a follower speculated, “Liam showing up through the rainbow.” Prompting an emotional nod from Cassidy: “He had to say hello.”
Cassidy isn’t new to feeling Liam’s presence in poignant ways during her grief, like uncovering a scribbled note in her bag adorned with a crown and “444” digits, musing it was a “Sign for today. [I] was cleaning out my purses and found this note at the bottom of one.”
As for Cheryl and Liam’s young son Bear, he made his big entrance into the world at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital back on March 22, 2017. The proud dad gushed on Instagram during those first moments: “My close friends and family know there are very few times when I’m left speechless… wow!”.
Liam and Cheryl took different life paths shortly after little Bear celebrated his first candle, yet they kept the co-parenting game strong. Even with Liam not being a constant presence, he never dropped the ball on making sure his tot was sorted out financially.
Pals of the celeb say he had a brainwave “some years ago” to line up his dosh for his single chlid if anything unfortunate happened to him.
A source told The Daily Mail: “Liam had some very sensible people around him for a time and he adored Bear so much. He always wanted to do the right thing by him financially. It is a small consolation that Bear will never want for anything, that he will at least benefit from that.”
