Peppa Pig’s parents, Mummy and Daddy Pig, recently delivered their third child and announced the news on live television before revealing the piglet’s name and gender
Ever wondered what Mummy and Daddy Pig’s real names are?
Peppa Pig’s family have recently welcomed a new little one, Evie, to the world. Peppa, George and Evie all have names, but Mummy and Daddy pig are simply known by their family roles.
According to the Peppa Pig World website, Mummy’s name is “top secret” and has never been confirmed. However, they reveal that she is “believed to be younger than Daddy Pig, who is thought to be around 30-years-old.”
In one episode, Daddy Pig whispers Mummy’s real age to Peppa who cheekily reacts with: “Wow! Really old!”
Peppa’s father gets the same treatment as Mummy. His name is never revealed, although professionally he is known as Mr Pig.
Daddy’s age is also not confirmed, but in the episode Daddy Pig’s Birthday, Peppa brands him “very, very old” – even though he only has 13 candles on his birthday cake.
In real life, Daddy Pig is voiced by Richard Ridings and Morwenna Banks lends her voice to Mummy Pig.
Peppa, George and Evie’s father works in an office and once revealed that he “transmutes numbers” and “calculates their load-bearing tangents,” whatever that means.
Mummy Pig does “very important work” on her computer and volunteers at Miss Rabbit’s Mummies Fire Engine Service.
She appeared on Good Morning Britain on 20 May to confirm the birth of her new daughter Evie, who was delivered at 5:45am and named after her auntie.
Fans took to X/Twitter to celebrate the happy news and one user wrote: “Aw, she’s proper lovely! Welcome to the world, little Evie, hope she’s got her mum’s sense of humour and her dad’s cheek!”
Another fan added: “Aw love it. Welcome, Baby Pig.”
