Fans of the Apple TV series Severance have discovered that they can visit the iconic Lumon building in real life, and it’s beyond anything they could have ever expected

Severance fans can visit Lumon, but you won’t believe what it’s like.

Fans of the Apple TV series can take a trip to Bell Labs Holmdel Complex in Holmdel Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey in the US. The building was a research and development facility for the Bell System and then Bell Labs.

The complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017 and has been a shooting location The Crowded Room and Law and Order: Organized Crime, as well as the iconic Apple TV series Severance.

The Lumon building in the show is known for it’s colossal size and emptiness, with an atmosphere like no-one is around despite employees lurking in the background. However, many Severance fans have posted videos online of what the location is like in real life, and the facility is vastly different to what we see on the show.

Clips on TikTok show fans exploring the venue, but one person was particularly eager to show off what their “Outie” got up to. The video showed them hula-hooping in a plastic snow globe, rollerskating, juggling, spinning around, making friends and disco dancing in the Lumon building.

They added the caption: “So lucky to have access to this gem! […] The main atrium is a metroburb that is open to the public […] It’s a fabulously beautiful space! You wouldn’t have to “sever” me to work here!”

The TikTok user assured viewers that the place is “welcoming and vibrant”(Image: Creative Commons)

“I’d welcome ALL the memories! They make the building appear so stark, ominous and cold on the show. In real life it is bright, welcoming and vibrant!”

Under another TikTok of the real life Lumon building, someone wrote: “Worked in that building from 1991-2008. Loved it,” while another person said: “I live 20 minutes from there and frequently walk around there for [poo emoji] and giggles. It’s so cool!”
