Rocker Sir Rod Stewart says his wife Penny has become a ‘BOSSY COP’ since joining the police.

The 80-year-old singer said that ever since 54-year-old Penny became a special constable, she had become more domineering. In 2019, Penny took part in Channel 4 show Famous & Fighting Crime as a special constable, and in 2022 became a special for the City of London police.

Special constables have the same powers as warranted police officers – and usually do four hours-a-week supporting PCs and PCSOs. The Hot Legs singer said: “I have noticed she’s got more bossy since she’s been a copper.

“The kids have noticed, we’ve all noticed. She seems to think she knows everything now.”

The legendary swordsman – who was previously married to model Rachel Hunter, and dated Britt Ekland and Kelly Emberg – said: “Penny came up and asked for my autograph, so I said, ‘Do you like dancing?’.

“She was an incredible dancer, gorgeous, 6ft 4in heels, ai-yi-yi. I was very lucky. I went out of one marriage and into the next.”

Rod, who last week returned to the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury after a 23-year hiatus, has hinted that he may be considering scaling back his world tours.

In a recent Instagram post, Rod said: “This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire. I love what I do and I do what I love. I’m fit, have a full head of hair and can run 100 metres in 18 seconds.”

The Maggie May hitmaker walked out to a chorus of bagpipes before starting his first song. After he finished, he shouted out to the crowd: “Hey, I’m here! Music brings us together, we need music.”
