The Masked Singer has unveiled the characters who will be on its new series.
There will be 12 of them battling it out for victory on the ITV1 hit when it returns next year – after West End star Samantha Barks won the last series. The line-up includes some of the most bonkers ones in the show’s history.
There is a bat dressed in tartan, a monkey in a suit, a colourful bull and a can of worms. A show insider said: “Producers have pulled out all the stops to make these characters some of the best yet.
“There are some crazy costumes. Viewers are going to absolutely love them. Every year they try to think of the wackiest ideas possible. They want the show to continue being the silliest thing on TV.”
The new series is set to be the biggest yet. As well as the characters, there will be a house band featuring mystery celebrities. It means there will be more guessing than ever before.
Host Joel Dommett said: “There’s going to be more unmaskings than ever!”. As always, it will be up to the panel of detectives to guess who is behind each mask.
Maya Jama, Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall and Mo Gilligan are all back. The series will start on January 3 on ITV1.
