A new poll revealed Gen Zers want to paint the town red with The GC, as the 44-year-old claimed 27% of the vote, compared to Katie Price and Alison Hammond with 25% and 22%
Reality TV legend Gemma Collins has been voted the celebrity who most party lovers want a night out with. A new poll revealed Gen Zers want to paint the town red with The GC, as the 44-year-old claimed 27% of the vote, compared to Katie Price and Alison Hammond with 25% and 22%.
The study of 2,000 Brits by train ticketing app Trainline also reveals how vital glamming up is to a night out, with three-quarters of 18-34 year olds (75%) saying the night begins before arriving at the venue.
A staggering 80% say the journey is one of the most important elements of going ‘out out’ and more than half (60%) use it for glam time on the go.
Gemma Collins is now teaming up with Trainline to launch a train station pop-up named SlayStation to give girls a glam touch-up at King’s Cross train station, London, on June 7.
Those passing through the city or heading to Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter will be able to get a free last-minute touch-up from professional hair stylists and makeup artists.
Gemma Collins may even drop in herself as party lovers either attend their booked appointment or grab a walk-in slot.
Speaking about her own experiences with nights out and reflecting on the good times, Gemma said: “Listen, the best part of any night is the build-up.
“It’s the getting glam, the playlist, the group chat chaos, and all those deep, hilarious, ‘why did we even start talking about this?’ moments on the journey to the venue.
“SlayStation is all about bringing the glam – a bit of hair, a bit of makeup, and a whole lot of fabulous.
“If you’re stepping out, step out ready to slay.”
The new data also showed that one in five (20%) of 18–24-year-olds have revealed that they are prepared to travel a staggering 50 miles to get to their main event.
One in five Brits now plan their outfit and ‘look’ up to one month in advance of their night out – perfecting it right until the last moment, with 70% of Brits using time on the train to perfect their look.
Research has also found millennials are top spenders when it comes to night out prep, with 38% spending £60+ on their look.
Sarah Helppi, UK Country Director at Trainline, said: “At Trainline, we know that great nights out start long before you reach the venue – they start with the journey.
“Whether it’s touching up your look up on the train, sharing music playlists, or those conversations that only happen en route, travel has become an essential part of the night.
“That’s why we launched SlayStation – to celebrate the journey and make it as iconic as the destination.”
More than half of millennials (55%) are prepared to spend a further £100 on the rest of the night out, while just under half (49%) of the Gen X generation are willing to do the same.
Just two in five (40%) Gen Z party lovers are willing to spend £100 during the night out itself.
