The Traitors star Charlotte Chilton has been rushed to hospital for brain surgery to manage trigeminal neuralgia, a chronic pain condition as she continues paternity row
The Traitors contestant, Charlotte Chilton, has been admitted to hospital for brain surgery as supporters voiced their worry for the mother-of-one.
Charlotte, 32, who reached the final of the BBC programme’s second series in 2024, posted an image of herself from her hospital bed, informing her followers she requires an operation to treat her trigeminal neuralgia. The chronic pain disorder is marked by severe, electric shock-like sensations in the face, often sparked by gentle touch or everyday activities.
Confessing she felt ‘intimidated’ before the procedure, Charlotte, who is presently embroiled in a contentious paternity dispute with YouTuber, Conor Maynard, 33, penned: “As many of you know I have tried raise awareness of the condition trigeminal neuralgia. I have unfortunately found myself back in hospital with a terrible attack and this has resulted in me needing another neuro surgery to control it. Having surgery on your brain is always daunting, however this has long term relief and allows me to get on with my life.”
Revealing she was taken to A&E following a “huge attack” during what proved to be a “hellish week”, Charlotte added: “After being rushed into A&E with a huge attack, I have been taken care of by the amazing Neuro team at QE hospital and today I have an operation to relieve me of my physical torture.
“For my TN followers keep fighting to find the right team to support you. I’m so grateful for my family and friends who have supported me through this hellish week! Wish me luck and see you on the other side! !”, reports the Mirror.
Charlotte has endured a challenging period as she persists in her quest to establish the paternity of her daughter Penelope – maintaining that social media personality Conor is the biological father.
During the summer months, the duo underwent DNA testing, with the findings confirming the previous examination which indicated that Conor was not Penelope’s dad.
After the shocking revelation, Charlotte issued a statement through her representatives, who informed the Daily Mail: “For those of you who have followed Charlotte’s journey since her appearance on BBC’s The Traitors, will know she has fought an extraordinary battle for truth and justice with heartfelt conviction. Charlotte will now take time to process, heal and reflect and when she is ready, she will finally share her story in full.”
Speaking to The Sun afterwards, she declared her intention to demonstrate that Conor is indeed her daughter Penelope’s father – regardless of two paternity examinations suggesting otherwise.
Questioning the accuracy of the DNA testing, she stated: “I have had so much abuse from people wondering why I am saying he is her father. I am saying it because I know it is true. But I’ve also had messages off people who have had DNA tests with strange results like this too. There are so many scenarios.”
However, Conor broke his silence on the outcome of the second paternity test via social media, stating: “Today I received the results of a second paternity test, which was requested by Charlotte Chilton regarding her baby girl, Penelope. As with the last test, this test has confirmed again that I am not Penelope’s father.”
He added, “As Charlotte requested, Penelope’s, Charlotte’s and my DNA were all taken at a Ministry of Justice accredited DNA facility that was selected by Charlotte. The results are therefore conclusive.
“This has been difficult for me and my family, and I’m so grateful for everyone’s support. I’m glad we can now finally draw a line under this.”
In a surprising twist, another name has emerged amidst Conor’s persistent denials and two paternity tests confirming he isn’t the father. It’s now come to light that Jonny Holloway, Charlotte’s co-star, also alleges he had an intimate encounter with the reality star around the same period.
Despite this, Charlotte has refuted any claims of sleeping with Jonny. He asserts that he requested a DNA test – but according to him, she has since had a change of heart and refuses to discuss the matter of paternity with him.
