Coronation Street fans were left fearing for Carla Connor (Alison King) during tonight’s episode when a conversation with Scott took a dark turn.
The Corrie newcomer revealed he used to hang around with Carla’s dad, Johnny, in the 70s, as he shared stories from their past together.
However, he finished the conversation on a sinister note, saying: “I’m sorry for dredging up the past. Your dad was a good bloke but we all have history.”
Carla also learnt that Scott knew her mother Sharon, though he didn’t realise Johnny and Sharon were in a relationship at the time.
Over on Twitter, viewers were convinced that Scott’s presence signalled danger for Carla, as they took to their keyboards to speculate.
One said: “#Corrie ‘we all have history’ – suspicious.”
A second agreed: “I think that blokes dodgy at the pub.”
“I’ve got a feeling Jonny and Scott were involved in some kind of grooming/sex exploration type stuff,” added a third.
While a fourth chimed: “Scott is really giving me the creeps.”
Carla was in for another unpleasant surprise later in the episode, when a mysterious stranger named Chelsey appeared in the bar.
Unusually curious about Carla, Chelsey started discreetly taking photographs of the barmaid on her phone from underneath the table.
Later, when Carla went into the bathroom, Chelsey followed her inside and cornered her.
In a threatening tone of voice, she insisted that Carla wouldn’t want others to know their shared history together – hinting at dodgy dealings.
What does Chelsey want from Carla?
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm.
