Coronation Street's Geoff 'confesses to murdering Elaine' in haunting Alya twist

Coronation Street fans are convinced Geoff Metcalfe has confessed to Elaine’s murder – and Alya Nazir is next on his hit list.

Last night’s trip to Weatherfield saw the Corrie villain, played by Ian Bartholomew, threaten Alya (Sair Khan) with murder, hinting his ex-wife Elaine (Paula Wilcox) was six feet under.

When Alya refused Geoff entry into Speed Daal, things turned nasty, as he warned that “if she knew what was good for her” she would move out of his way.

Then, apparently suggesting Elaine was dead, he added: “If you want, you can find out just what kind of man I am like she did.”

When Alya swiped “over her dead body” would he enter the restaurant, he issued a horrifying threat, saying: “Don’t tempt me.”

Over on Twitter, certain viewers were convinced the conversation was a confession of sorts, as they speculated over Elaine’s terrifying demise.

One said: “I hope Elaine isn’t dead but it’s #corrie so she most likely is.”

“He killed Elaine the Geoff will hurt anyone to get what he wants hopefully everyone will find out the truth about what Geoff is really like #Corrie,” added a second.

And a third chimed: “#Corrie is Elaine in the Canal?”

Elaine has been missing since Monday night’s episode, which saw her ex-husband Geoff confront her in the middle of the Corrie cobbles.

She had recently returned to Weatherfield in a bid to save Yasmeen Nazir, fearing Geoff’s third wife would get sent behind bars for attempted murder.

Has Geoff murdered ex-wife Elaine?

However, Elaine’s brave efforts to help Yasmeen took a dark turn when she suddenly vanished, with locals witnessing her speaking to Geoff in her final moments.

Later, Geoff was seen tossing the SIM card for her phone down the loo, disposing of evidence.

Has Elaine simply fled Weatherfield, or could Geoff have stooped to murder?

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
