Television presenter Ruth Langsford took a trip to the hair salon yesterday ahead of her return to the This Morning studio on Friday.
The 60-year-old Loose Women host, who is married to Eamonn Holmes, filmed herself having extension tapes put in her hair by her hairdresser and then posted the footage online.
The mum-of-one, who was wearing the obligatory face mask, could be seen in the salon chair, running her fingers through her long tresses before they were cut and styled into shape.
The extensions perfectly matched Ruth’s blonde highlights, but were significantly longer than the cropped bob we’re used to seeing her with.
The long locks worked well with Ruth’s face-framing fringe and layers, but don’t expect it to be a permanent change.
She went on to reveal that her previous extensions had fallen out during lockdown and she found herself missing the volume they provided.
Alongside the social media clips, Ruth wrote: “My hair extension tapes came out during lockdown and I hadn’t bothered replacing them…but I missed the extra body they give my hair.”
She continued: “I don’t have them for extra length, just to add a bit of volume at the sides.
“My hair definitely got thinner because of menopause so these really help.”

The television star went on to thank her stylists: “Thank you @leobancroftsalon & @thelondonhairlab #hairtapes #extensions #leobancroftsalon.”
Unsurprisingly, Ruth’s latest Instagram grid update caught the attention of her 961,000 followers, with some rushing to leave a message for the star in the comment section.
One fan penned: “Your hair always looks fab.”
Another added: “Loving the length.”

A third posted: ““Ooh I’ve never seen them being done.”
While a fourth said: “You suit long hair.”
“You always look so lovely., Ruth. Love the long hair,” a fifth follower gushed.
Ruth was back on our screens on Friday with her husband and This Morning co-star Eamonn Holmes.
