Rita Ora ’s mum has been called a “hypocrite” after she blasted Covidiots who break lockdown rules – days after her own daughter was famously caught flouting lockdown twice.
Vera Sahatçiu, 56, slammed shoppers in London for not social distancing.
The psychiatrist, who returned to the NHS frontline during the Covid crisis, posted a photo of a packed Regent Street on Instagram.
She wrote: “Can’t believe this, has the virus disappeared already?”
But her comments caused a backlash seeing as singer Rita was forced into two grovelling apologies – for throwing a 30th birthday bash while in lockdown and for failing to quarantine for 14 days after a money-spinning trip to Egypt.
Rita, 30, had declared she would be having a quiet birthday with her parents two weeks prior to throwing her lavish bash. She said sorry last week for her “spur of the moment” gathering at a restaurant in Notting Hill, west London and paid a fine.

It also emerged that she flew by private jet to Cairo last month to sing at a hotel.
Under Covid rules she should have quarantine for a fortnight after returning.
But less than a week later the singer threw the party with 30 guests.
Critics reacted with fury at Vera’s comments last night.
One said: “What a hypocrite, you should be educating that stupid daughter of yours.

“Why don’t you have a word with your reckless daughter before you comment.”
Another said: “This family are either nuts or just ignorant. Hope ITV drop her from Masked Singer then mum will have something else to moan about. Honestly the hypocrisy is shocking.”
A third simply said: “Pot and kettle.”
Meanwhile Hot Right Now crooner Rita said she would donate her Egypt gig fee to charity.

She said: “I recently flew to Egypt to perform at a corporate event for a private company, where my travel party followed protocol and presented negative Covid tests upon entry, as required by Egyptian authorities.
“Upon my return to Britain I should have followed government advice and isolated myself for the required period.
“As you know I didn’t follow government advice and I apologise again, unreservedly. While I realise the apologetic words of a pop star might not carry much weight, especially one who has broken the rules like I have, I do realise some might seek to follow my example.
“My message to them is simple: please don’t. The guilt and shame I’ve carried this week for my mistake aren’t worth it.”
