BBC Breakfast's Dan Walker asks Trinny Woodall 'inappropriate' trousers question

Fashion expert Trinny Woodall made an appearance on BBC Breakfast on Wednesday morning but was faced with some rather awkward questions from presenter Dan Walker.

Trinny, who was being interviewed by hosts Dan and Louise Minchin via video link, discussed how the nation should dress going forward as many Brits have been working from home.

During the interview, the fashion guru admitted that she has also become accustomed to only dressing the top half of her body in a more “presentable” way but the lower half is very “relaxed” because of her online meetings.

As the star was speaking confidently about changing the way in which we think about fashion due to the easing of lockdown, broadcaster Dan Walker took it upon himself to ask Trinny what he said was an “inappropriate” question.

The presenter said: “Trinny I feel you’ve opened the door for the most inappropriate question I’ve ever asked, but are you wearing loose-fitting trousers this morning?”

But Trinny took the question on her chin and stood up to show the presenters what she was wearing.

The fashionista said: “I’m gonna show you what I’m doing because I’m going to show you how you can up the ante.”

Showing off her attire Trinny explained: “This could be loose-fitting trousers and they’re just floppy and comfortable and an oversized shirt, so if I wanted to make this feel a little less lockdown, I might tuck in a little of the shirt.”

She added: “Then I would say it’s about colour, wearing colours that really suit you.”

But the awkward questions didn’t stop there, as presenter Dan continued to ask Trinny about her items in the background.

Dan said he’s “fascinated” by Trinny’s “rack” behind her which showcased the star’s clothing range.

The breakfast presenter went even further and said: “Trinny, very quickly, we can see all the cosmetics behind you, you’ve got the wardrobe with all the lovely coats in it, what’s that on your right shoulder, it looks like a keg of beer?”

Amused, Trinny explained to Dan that it was a stack from her brand Trinny London.

Though the fashion expert did her best to explain to viewers what they should wear as lockdown comes to an end, many were annoyed that she came on to the show publicise her brand Trinny London.

Taking to Twitter one viewer complained: “Trinny taking the opportunity to flog her make up again. How about showing how people without a wardrobe full of expensive tailored clothes dress?”

Another viewer wrote: “Disgusting plug for Trinny’s brand there. Shameless. Reported to Ofcom.”
