The celebs took full advantage of the return of the VMAs on Sunday night to dress to the nines and strut their stuff down the red carpet.
The celebration look place at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York, with the likes of Alicia Keys and Swae Lee, Camila Cabello, Ed Sheeran, Foo Fighters and Justin Bieber with The Kid LAROI all performing.

Avril Lavigne pulled out all the stops in the unique pink and black plaid suit.
The blazer featured an open front cut-out in the shape of a heart that showcased her incredible toned figure.
Underneath she donned a silver sequin bra that highlighted her ample assets and gave a hint of sparkle to the edgy outfit.
She accessorised with a matching sparkly bag, and wore her hair in its signature straight style with plenty of punk style eyeliner.

The 52-year-old looked ageless as she took to the stage to present the first award of the evening,
She stepped out in a lace up mini skirt that showed off her incredibly tiny waist and famous long pins.
She paired it with a matching turtleneck crop top that gave everyone a sneak peak at her toned abs while the lace detailing also emphasised her impressive cleavage.
J Lo wore her honey toned locks neatly waved and finished the look with her classic smokey eye, and a huge grin.

Megan wore a nude palette of makeup to match her dress and let her natural beauty shine through as she pouted on the carpet.

He was strutted down the red carpet with his chiselled bare chest on show and with a fabulous long train that followed him down.
He finished off the look with long curls and accessorised with a matching pair of purple boots.

Madonna had fans’ jaws on the floor as she opened the show in a surprise appearance.
The 63-year-old star unbelted her trench coat to reveal a black leather dominatrix outfit underneath with a matching leather cap.

And the surprise wasn’t over as when she pivoted and strutted off stage she gave the audience a full view of her barely covered peachy derriere, sending Twitter wild.
