Dan Walker reveals huge project away from BBC Breakfast as he thanks fans for support

Dan Walker has revealed a huge new project away from his BBC Breakfast show.

The BBC presenter, 44, announced huge career news to one of his followers on Instagram.

Dan told fans that he’s currently writing a new book – following the success of his Remarkable People autobiography, which he released in 2020.

The presenter had a busy year in 2021, having competed on Strictly Come Dancing for weeks with his dancing partner Nadiya Bychkova and making it to the quarter finals.

However, it appears Dan has already picked up the pen again after his previous book, because he’s working on another book.

Dan’s released his last book Remarkable People: Extraordinary Stories of Everyday Lives in 2020 – and it looks back at some of the inspiring people he’s met during his BBC career.

He recently took a swipe at the government on his BBC One breakfast show – after ministers failed to appear on his show.

it came following allegations that No 10 Downing Street hosted a garden party during the peak of the pandemic on May 20, 2020.

Dan was sitting alongside Nina Warhurst when he said: “Now, normally at this time – if you’re a regular watcher – we would hear from a government minister.

“We asked at quarter past eleven yesterday morning and throughout the day until nine o’clock last night but no minister was offered to come on and explain exactly what has happened.

“Nothing that could help us understand what exactly is going on at the moment.”

Nina added that if any ministers wanted to chat to them during the show, they still had the chance.

Dan even tweeted: ““For those asking … we did ask for a government minister to speak to us on #BBCBreakfast this morning but no-one was available.

“The offer remains. We are on until 915.”
