BBC Breakfast fans were outraged as Naga Munchetty warned Welsh Corespondent Tomos Morgan to “keep safe” after he’d been sent to report from a storm Eunice danger zone in South Wales.
The 46-year-old host, had urged people to “stay home” while prompting the red weather warnings from the MET office with regards to “absolutely necessary” travel.
However fans called out the programme’s hypocritical behaviour, with reporters being sent to gather footage when dangers were highlighted on the show.
One person fumed on Twitter: “We’re all supposed to stay indoors/avoid coasts! Schools closed here in N Wales, yet you send a correspondent into a red warning (danger to life) area!!”
Another echoed: “@bbcbreakfast Why are you sending your people out near coast line ????? Telling people to stay safe and at home #hypocrites.”

A third complained: “Seriously @BBCBreakfast you spend half the morning highly dangerous storm #redwarning & advising people to #stayathome, then send your chaps to outside broadcast in areas expected to most impacted! Advice #stayaway! #bbcbreakfast.”
While a fifth agreed: “Don’t go anywhere near this you say yet there you are reporting live. Do H&S know your putting lives at risk? A major news story as it’s in the south but two day earlier when in the North just a foot note.”
Earlier on in the programme, Naga had sent a stark warning to those watching at home concerning the coast line in South Wales, namely Porthcawl.

She shared: “I mean here is the view from Porthcawl this morning. A glorious sunrise, it’s just so dramatic.
“But the huge waves are crashing against the pier, we’ve been talking to environment agencies and council leaders who are just saying don’t go down there and take photos, watch here.”
Naga added: “Watch from the safety of your home. I mean it’s a stunning picture but it is dangerous out there and we’re getting more information about the types of wind speeds that are being recorded at St Mary’s in the Isle of Scilly – 77mph already and it does look like the winds are increasing in speed.”
Later in another segment live from Porthcawl, the camera filmed Welsh reporter Tomos Morgan at the dangerous sea front.

Narrating over the windy scenes, Naga commented: “You can see it’s windy in Porthcawl where our Welsh correspondent Tomos Morgan is.
“Tomos hello, good morning to you. I know you’re going to be struggling to hear me so I’ll just say, what’s happening?”
The Welsh correspondent explained: “Well you can really hear that its picked up and see really how much the wind has picked up.
“Just quickly go round the corner here and you can see how dramatic the waves are now, crashing against the sides here as they come over just onto the road really.

“As I say, that red warning came into force about an hour ago, high tide was here just under and hour ago so this is what is going to be worst really affected in the Porthcawl area.”
He added: “Its quite good for the core balance as the wind tends to knock you over on the seafront here in South Wales.”
The BBC host replied: “Very impressive core work, obviously you’ve been into the gym and keeping fit.
“Listen Tomos, I’m sure your camera person is very fit as well.”
She then requested: “Do you think you could just finish with a shot with just down the pier again that you showed us earlier.
“We just kind of want to get a real picture of whats going on.”
As the pier came into view Naga told Tomos: “Lovely in a dangerous way, so obviously stay away from there, you guys keep safe.”
The Met Office has issued a second rare red weather warning to cover London, and south-east and east England.
Forecasters warn Eunice could bring wind gusts of up to 90mph on Friday, which could lead to power cuts and much travel disruption up and down the country.
Advice is for people to only travel if necessary to do so, with many trains and planes suspended – with the military on standby.
