Fans of Emmerdale were left trembling on Thursday evening after serial killer Meena Jutla stared directly into the camera to deliver her lines.
Breaking the fourth wall, the twisted nurse put on a chilling display as she appeared to speak to viewers at home directly.
Near the end of the ITV soap, Meena, played by actress Paige Sandhu, said a prayer but when she looked to the camera, she appeared to be advising vicar Charles Anderson to not be swayed by the devil.
The murderer said: “God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of truth.

“They may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil.
She added: “Come to your senses, Charles. Escape the snare of the evil.”
Sharing their horror online, fans jumped onto Twitter to discuss the disturbing scene.
One viewer wrote: “Omg that Meena ending has chilled my bones. Pure horror.”
Another petrified viewer said: “Meena is beautiful and so sinister at the same time that look she gave at the end was frightening.”

While a third fan penned: “Meena Jutla’s stare does things to me.”
But one viewer wasn’t impressed with Meena’s act and wrote: “Did Meena just look and smile at the camera at the end there? I get soaps aren’t real life but at least try and make them a bit realistic surely?”
On Thursday’s episode, Charles played by Kevin Mathurin visited Meena in prison where she fed him several lies regarding Ben Tucker’s death.
When Charles pressed her for a confession, Meena seemed to insinuate that she killed Ben because he tried to attack her.

She also tried to sway his opinion regarding her sister Manpreet Sharma who she kidnapped last month.
But as the deviant murderer divulged into matters, it appeared as though Charles was being persuaded by her story which left several fans at home frustrated.
Taking Twitter again, one annoyed spectator wrote: “If Charles ends up being the reason Meena escapes or if he helps her in any way i will hate him forever! Please don’t let this happen @emmerdale, she is in prison now leave her rot there!”
While another commented: “Please don’t let Charles fall for Meena’s depraved stories.”
