Emmerdale's Samantha Giles claims she met her husband at a fairground 'in a past life'

Emmerdale star Samantha Giles, who plays Bernice Blackstock in the soap, has said that she thinks she met her husband in a past life, with some unusual identity changes.

Samantha believes that she met her husband Sean Pritchard at a festival, where she was the male and he was the female.

She reckons that her former self looked uncannily like her curly-haired husband in real life, and that his past persona looked like how she does now.

The 50-year-old actress calls herself a white witch and follows the Pagan religion of Wicca.

She has also previously confirmed that she thinks the pair met after she casted a “love spell” in an attempt to find a partner.

The star spoke about the spell last year: “I met him three months after the spell, it’s about things being aligned. Sometimes people say to me, ‘I put this thought out there and it didn’t work,’ but sometimes things aren’t in the right place so you have to let them go until it’s time.”

The husband and wife were married in 2010 and credits their chance encounter to her Wiccan rituals.

Samantha spoke on the Wonderbirds YouTube show about her thoughts: “It was weird really because I was this man and I’d gone to work on this fairground.

“The weird thing is, it was before I’d met my husband, but I looked like my husband.”

“I had black curly hair and the woman that I was marrying looked like me, now. When I met my husband I had this feeling of meeting him when I saw him, ‘I know you, I’ve met you before,’ so it was almost as if we’d looked like each other in another life,” she speculated.

Giles also touched on the fact that she had come out of a “disastrous relationship” and she didn’t want to “mess around with any waste-of-space boyfriends”, so she turned to Pagan witchcraft, candles and crystals.

She also told the Mirror that “it isn’t as bonkers as it sounds” and “as if by magic” her dream man appeared a few months after her attempts at love.

Her secret? To “ritualise and visualise”, which will result in “getting what you want in life”.
