Coronation Street spoilers reveal Adam hits rock bottom in sick Sarah death twist

Coronation Street resident Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) hits rock bottom next week as his former lover Lydia Chambers (Rebecca Ryan) continues her campaign to destroy his life.

In recent weeks, Lydia has upped her revenge plan by making it seem like she’s having an affair with Adam.

She’s cloned his credit cards, broken into the flat and got her hands on some burner phones.

Lydia’s determination to ruin Adam’s life has left Sarah Barlow (Tina O’Brien) convinced Lydia is telling the truth about sleeping with her husband.

Sick of being treated like the bad guy, Adam knocks back drinks in upcoming scenes and flirts with a girl, telling her his wife died in a car crash.

Having received a text from Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan), Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) arrives and explains that Adam’s wife is still very much alive.

Drunk and morose, Adam announces he’s going into town.

Under Daniel’s instruction, Adam calls to see Sarah, but clocking his hungover state, she sends him packing.

Spotting Lydia, Adam storms over, telling her he’ll prove what a liar she is.

Carla Connor (Alison King) advises Sarah to think hard before cutting Adam out of her life as she’s not sure Lydia can be trusted.

Will Sarah take heed?

Lydia actress Rebecca Ryan recently told Daily Star that Adam’s life is “definitely” in danger.

She confessed: “Lydia has covered all bases and gone to extraordinary lengths – and not only that, but she’s put things into place weeks before.

Adam furiously confronts Lydia about her lies

“So the conversations she’s had with Sarah weeks before that you wouldn’t even know meant anything, she was laying the groundwork already for things she knows will happen.

“She’s been very clever and manipulative definitely. This is a well thought out plan for sure.”

The star went on: “She definitely does go to some extreme lengths, so I’d say there could definitely be a danger to Adam. He could definitely be in some danger, let’s just say!”

But Lydia isn’t an out-and-out villain, Rebecca explained.

She said: “Towards the end of [the storyline] you can see her reasoning for doing what she does.

“Yeah, she might take things too far to get her point across – but I hope it comes across that you kind of feel for her, and know she’s doing this not because she’s a bad person and wants to ruin lives for the sake of it, but she is doing it because she has genuinely been broken.

Lydia was interested in Adam’s nephew Daniel when she arrived in Weatherfield and she blames Adam for ruining the romance between the pair.

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV at 8pm
