BBC EastEnders star marries fiancée in sweet ceremony as rival soap-stars share snaps

EastEnders star Charlie Wernham has married his fiancée Emma Collis in front of pals from his previous soap, Hollyoaks.

Real-life couple Daisy Wood-Davis and Luke Jerdy – who are engaged and played Kim Butterfield and Jesse Donovan on the Chester soap – shared a series of pictures from the special day.

Former Hollyoaks actress Jessica Ellis (who played Tegan Lomax) was also one of the guests.

She posted a selection of photos from the wedding on her Instagram page, including one of Charlie and Emma sitting together at the top table during the wedding reception.

Charlie and Emma, an actress, got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2021.

Charlie and Emma got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2021.

“Happy Valentine’s Day to this absolute Treacle. I’m grateful for you everyday. I can’t wait to say ‘I do’ and create more memories,” he wrote on the Instagram post announcing their engagement.

The pair have been together for over seven years and celebrated their fifth anniversary on a holiday to Rome.

The couple have three dogs – Duke, Dolly & Ralph.

Charlie, 27, first rose to fame on Britain’s Got Talent way back in 2008 as a very young stand-up comedian.

He got nods from all three judges as he performed his routine in front of Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden. He made it as far as the semi-finals.

After enrolling at the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre school for a series of weekend classes, Charlie bagged a role as a bully in The Inbetweeners.

He also played the cheeky Mitchell in Jack Whitehall’s BBC3 sitcom Bad Education.

He then went on to be cast as popular Hollyoaks tearaway Robbie Roscoe from 2013 to 2016.

His EastEnders character Aaron Monroe arrived in Walford to live with his dad Harvey (Ross Boatman) and younger sister Dana (Barbara Smith).

However, he is currently in prison for a botched New Year’s Eve terrorist plot, after his involvement with a far-right group came to light.

In an unusual quirk of Soapland, Charlie’s mum on Hollyoaks, Jackie Roscoe, was played by none other than EastEnders legend Gillian Taylforth.

EastEnders continues at 7.30pm Monday to Thursday on BBC One
