Helen Flanagan has opened up about her breastfeeding journey and why she wants to stop nursing her youngest child.
The former Coronation Street star and mum-of-three admitted she has been feeling “drained” and has had a “challenging few weeks” and has now decided to wean Charlie, one.
She made the announcement on Instagram and said: “I’ve decided to stop feeding. I’ve really enjoyed nursing Charlie but the past month I’ve just had enough.
“Today was the first day I’m trying to gradually wean him off during the day (he feeds too much).
Helen, 31, went on to say that while she “loves being a mum” and is “so grateful for her babies” she has decided to make some changes in her life.
She added: “Found the past weeks quite challenging with mum life. I think it’s quite good to be honest as we see such perfect images of motherhood on social media.
“I’ve never had any childcare for Charlie but I’ve decided to get some week. To help him eat more and get off the boob. It’s just different stages and they will pass.”
Helen, who played Rosie Webster on and off for 18 years on Coronation Street, shares three children with fiancé, footballer Scott Sinclair, 33.
They have daughters Matilda, six, Delilah, three, and son Charlie, one.
In other news, Helen recently announced that she had sadly lost her grandmother.
Earlier this month she shared a few sweet snaps of her Nanna, Nancy, cuddling her children and penned to her 1 million followers: “My Nanna passed away this week. I loved and love my Nanna so much.”
The actress added that her Nanna was “an amazing lady” and that she was “proud to be Nancy’s granddaughter.”
The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star movingly wrote: “I am so grateful for the precious times we shared and that my Nanna got to see all three of my beautiful children that my Nanna loved so much and gave her so much joy.
