Helen Skelton 'hired private investigator' after suspicions about husband Richie Myler

Helen Skelton reportedly hired a private investigator after she became suspicious about her husband Richie Myler’s behaviour in their marriage.

The 38-year-old Countryfile presenter revealed her relationship with the Leeds Rhinos rugby star had come to an end after nine years of marriage last month.

Last week, it emerged the sportsman had already started a new relationship just weeks after his marriage came to an end with a new woman – 32-year-old Stephanie Thirkill.

But it is thought the TV presenter suspected her husband had been cheating on her after she employed a private investigator to help her uncover the truth, according to The Sun.

It is understood that the mum-of-three has since contacted Stephanie’s estranged husband Richard Sugden – who lives in the heart of Harrogate in North Yorkshire – to compare notes and build a timeline of the new couple’s scandalous relationship.

It is understood earlier in the evening, Stephanie – the daughter of Rhinos president Andrew Thirkill, who is worth an eye-watering £175million – had asked for a photograph with the couple, which they obliged.

However, the new couple continue to insist their relationship only started after Richie split from the former Blue Peter star.

Now a close pal to the TV star has told the outlet how the doting mum hired the private eye to help her work out what was amiss in their nine-year marriage.

The close pal explained: “She felt something was amiss in her relationship with Richie.

“Hiring a private investigator was the last thing she wanted to do, but she was left with no choice as she needed to know the truth.”

They added: “She has since reached out to Stephanie’s ex to help each other communicate over the situation.

“Emotions are running high and the most important thing to Helen is looking after her three children and making sure they’re OK during the difficult split.”

The couple were together for 2011 and tied the knot in December 2013 before they welcomed their three children together.
