Inside prison plot to murder Netflix killer Jeffrey Dahmer after cannibal 'crossed line'

Cannibalistic serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer has been thrust back into the headlines once again following the release of the new Netflix series.

The biographical crime drama Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story was released on the streaming platform last month, leaving some viewers terrified at the graphic scenes.

Dahmer went on a 13-year killing spree between 1978 and 1991, during which he murdered and dismembered 17 men and boys – some of which he even ate.

For his disgraceful crimes, Dahmer was sentenced to 15 terms of life imprisonment on February 17, 1992. But just two years into his time behind bars, he fell victim to the same crime he imparted on his victims.

Fellow inmate Christopher Scarver, who was serving time for murder, had grown to despise Dahmer, who would taunt other inmates behind bars.

He told the New York Post that Dahmer would fashion severed limbs out of prison food and drizzle on packets of ketchup to represent blood.

Scarver, who kept a newspaper article detailing Dahmer’s crimes in his pocket, said: “He would put them in places where people would be.

“He crossed the line with some people — prisoners, prison staff. Some people who are in prison are repentant — but he was not one of them.”

On the morning of November 28, 1994, Dahmer, alongside Scarver and another inmate, Jesse Anderson, had left their cells to carry out work.

Scarver had just retrieved his mop and was filling a bucket with water when someone poked him in the back.

Dahmer and Anderson were laughing he recalled but he couldn’t tell which one of them had done it.

The three men then split up and Scarver followed Dahmer toward a staff locker room before he grabbed a metal bar from the weight room and confronted Dahmer with the news story he had been carrying in his pocket.

Scarver continued: “I asked him if he did those things ’cause I was fiercely disgusted. He was shocked. Yes, he was.

“He started looking for the door pretty quick. I blocked him.

“He ended up dead. I put his head down,” he added.

At around 8.10am, Dahmer was found on the floor of the bathrooms with extreme head wounds.

The serial killer, who was still alive, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead an hour later.

Anderson had also been beaten with the same instrument and died two days later from his wounds.

After attacking both men, Scarver, who was thought to be schizophrenic, returned to his cell and informed a prison guard: “God told me to do it. Jesse Anderson and Jeffrey Dahmer are dead.”

Scarver was sentenced to two further life sentences for the murders of Dahmer and Anderson.
