I'm A Celeb back with a bang as fans vote to leave 'VIP' stars stranded on an island

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is back and show bosses have added a savage new twist – the public can start voting for brutal challenges before the show even begins.

Viewers can basically decide how miserable the celebs’ welcome to the jungle is. Some can be voted in as “VIPs” while others will have only food scraps to survive once the show stars.

But VIPs does not mean what you think – it stands for “very isolated people” and those chosen will have to spend a night stranded on an island to face the first trial of the series.

Currently, the contestants are undergoing a week of isolation in Australia for covid precautions.

Public voting is already opening to make the contestants welcome as unpleasant as possible!

ITV confirmed: “Voting is now open via the official app for you to vote for who you want to become Jungle VIPs in I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!”

This year’s lineup includes Boy George, Corrie star Sue Cleaver, Olivia Atwood, radio legend Chris Moyles, Mike Tindall and England Lionness Jill Scott.

It is reported that Culture Club singer Boy George, 61, is getting a mammoth £500,000 paycheque to appear on the show.

It is thought that it is a similar amount to what Caitlyn Jenner received in 2019.

Speaking about his imminent spell in the jungle, Boy George said that he will be the “in-house dietician” and will entertain everyone by singing.

He added: “I am bored of being iconic in the corner and if you want to compete in the world then being part of telly is part of that.

“This is the biggest show on TV and that is why I am doing it. And now I have made the decision, I don’t want to focus too much on what the experience might be like, but my intention is it is going to be amazing.

“It’s three weeks without make-up and three weeks is nothing. I have just done seven weeks on tour.”

I will miss my bed too and a nice breakfast.”

The new series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! starts next Sunday (November 6) on ITV and ITV Hub from 9pm.
