Strictly fans 'threaten BBC with Ofcom' as Fleur East 'robbed' from perfect score

Strictly Come Dancing fans were fuming on Saturday night (November 12) when Fleur East was “robbed” from getting the first 40 of the series.

After performing a sizzling Samba with her professional dance partner Vito Coppola, fans thought that they should have received four tens from the judging panel.

Prior to the judge’s verdicts, one fan penned: “If Fleur doesn’t get a 40 after that I’m going straight to Ofcom.”

While someone else added: “Fleur deserves the first 40 of the series for that samba. Incredible.”

So it was no surprise that when Craig Revel Horwood gave her a nine but Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke gave her 10s – fans were very upset.

Narrowly missing out on the first 40 of the series, fans took to Twitter to fume over Fleur and Vito’s score of 39.

“FUMING, FLEUR WAS ROBBED OF THAT 40!! #strictly,” penned one disgruntled fan.

Another issued a complaint to Ofcom when they tweeted the regulator directly to say: “Dear @Ofcom, I want to report a BBC crime. A 9 by Craig to Fleur. He needs to be sacked right now.”

Someone else branded Craig a “buzzkill” before writing: “Fleur’s Samba was a 40.”

A fourth then said: “How Fleur and Vito didn’t get 40 I don’t know I’m absolutely baffled if any dance deserved a full score it was that!”

While a fifth person penned: “Craig why couldn’t you just give us a 40 with Fleur and Vito if you loved it just give it a ten !!! Foolish I’m sorry !!!!”

This comes as the couples gear up for a trip to Blackpool next week for the coveted return of the fan-favourite week of the series.

Last week Paralympian Ellie Simmonds became the sixth celebrity to depart the dance floor after a tense dance off between Molly Rainford.
