Claudia Winkelman says Strictly turned her into a 'dark b*tch' on new BBC show

Claudia Winkelman has blamed Strictly Come Dancing for making her turn into a “dark b*tch”.

The hilarious presenter is hosting a brand new show titled The Traitors which is very different from the likes of the ballroom competition.

When talking about the new show, Claudia, 50, asked what drew her to being such a “dark b*tch” on the show.

Claudia said: “It’s because I have to be so smiley on Strictly ‘Oh, a four isn’t bad from Craig at least it’s not a three’. But here they very sweetly asked me to do it and they said it’s three weeks in Scotland and I’ve been to the countryside twice in my life and I said thank you, but no.

“But they said that’s fine but why don’t you watch the dutch version and then decide – I mean nobody got fed, I didn’t brush my teeth, and my son came in and was like ‘do you want to test my spellings?’ and I was like ‘get out!’. I was so obsessed and I phoned Kate and was like ‘I’m ready to go to Scotland now’.

Talking about the show, she added: “I got so deep like never before that I would phone my husband – well I think he was my husband I didn’t even care – did they still live in the same house?

“I didn’t even give a s*** and he was saying ‘I think French went well’ and I’d be like ‘you won’t believe what Will’s done’. I was in so deep, they were like ‘you can go home now’ and I’d be like ‘piss off!’ I cry at the end, I literally sobbed at the end. I’m on the floor sobbing inconsolably.”

In the new nail-biting psychological reality competition, host Claudia greets 22 strangers as they arrive at a beautiful castle in the Scottish Highlands to play the ultimate game of “detection, backstabbing and trust”.

The new show is gripping – says the host

But hidden amongst them are ‘The Traitors’ whose job is to secretly murder a player each night without getting caught.

It’s up to the others ‘the Faithfuls’ to try to detect who the traitors are and banish them from the game.

For the lucky ones who survive, they have the chance of winning up to £120,000.

But if a Traitor remains undetected, they’ll take all of the money.

The Traitors will debut on BBC One on Tuesday 29 November at 9.30pm, right after Wales v England in the Men’s FIFA World Cup
