Simon Cowell is reportedly in talks to bring back The X Factor for a monumental return to US television.
The show’s creator and judge is rumoured to be arranging a revival with NBC and Cowell has spoken to The Sun about the possibility.
She admitted that NBC had “offered them to make the show” and sources have told Deadline that the deal is not yet complete.

The publication reportedly that it will “likely fall under Cowell’s expanded deal with NBCUniversal,” which the judge signed in 2021.
It is set to join NBC’s current singing competition The Voice, Cowell’s variety show America’s Got Talent and its winter All-Stars spin off.
The X Factor was first aired back in 2004 in the UK and was a huge success from its first season, but the US version didn’t air in the States until 2011.
It spanned 15 series but came to an end in December 2018 after an almost 15 year run, but fans were treated to two spin off series: The X Factor: Celebrity and The X Factor: The Band.
Notable successes from the UK version of the show include Little Mix, One Direction, JLS, Stacey Solomon, Rylan Clark and James Arthur.
Despite launching three years later than its predecessor, the US version of the show garnered great acclaim and featured big name judges including Britney Spears, Nicole Scherzinger and Kelly Rowland.
Simon also judged but returned to the UK series in 2014, after which Fox cancelled the US show after just a three season run.
Possibly the most famous act to come from the US series is girl band Fifth Harmony.
The powerhouse girl group rose to fame after appearing on the Fox show in 2012 and have since released singles such as Worth It, Work From Home and That’s My Girl.
However, after the group released their self-titled third album back in 2017, the girls went on an indefinite hiatus.
In an official statement, they said: “After six years going hard, non-stop, we also realised that in order to stay authentic to ourselves and to you, we do need to take some time for now to go on a hiatus from Fifth Harmony in order to pursue solo endeavours.”
