A source told the Sun: “The couple are smitten with each other and are very sweet to be around.”

Emma has been married before, which ended in a painful divorce, with the actress going through proceedings as she joined the cast of EastEnders in 2005.

Alongside her husband of three years, she was said to be “devastated” by the split, with a source telling People at the time: “Both are devastated their marriage didn’t work out. Ultimately it was Emma who decided they couldn’t go on. It hasn’t been easy on either of them.”

Perry’s alt-rock band enjoyed success in the late 1990s and early 2000s, being known for their chart hits “Starbucks” and “Nothing”, which were both released in 2002.

He has since produced and written songs for other artists, including McFly and Don Bronco.
