My 3000lb Family star Casey King has admitted how “tough” life was for him when he was so fat he couldn’t wipe his own bum.
The TLC reality star dropped an incredible 41 stone after weighing 800 pounds (57 stone) at his heaviest.
But at his worst, Casey was more or less confined to his bedroom, forced to miss important family events and bathe in an outdoor trough after getting stuck in his shower for 11 hours.

He confessed that aged 34, his dad would have to wipe his bottom for him after using the bathroom, and that he couldn’t stand up to pee.
Casey opened up in an exclusive chat with Daily Star: “Since the show, I’ve started to basically be like a normal human being, like a normal active person.
“I work, I’ve had a job for three years at a Home Depot fulfilment centre near where I live. I drive myself around, I attend functions with family and friends that I missed for years.”
He added: “I tried to make up for all the time that I missed but you can’t really make up for missing a wedding or a funeral or a baby’s birth. I try to be at birthdays now or whenever my friends need help – to my own detriment I will try to be there.”
Casey is also dating after a life where sex “just didn’t exist” for him.
The star added: “I just live a life that I didn’t before. I didn’t do anything for a really long time that had any substance. I was just a person who sat on a bed, maybe moved to the living room, watched some TV, then would go back to my room for a very very long time.”
When Casey was first approached by the TLC show – known as Family By the Ton in the US – he was told to “tell your life story of being super fat, and make it sound awful”.
But he says nothing he told producers was made up.
Casey explained: “I told them everything – I had to bathe outside for a couple of months because I was too big for the shower. I sit in my room naked all day playing video games. I don’t wear a lot of clothes because they’re very constricting as I’m so big. I eat a lot of food.
“They were like, ‘man, this is gold, please, please be on our show’.”
It’s difficult for Casey to think about his lowest times before successfully shedding the pounds.
He said: “The show ask questions but they don’t really dive into how bad everything got. They [just] mention it in passing. I was legit like a handicapped person who could walk 10 feet. I was very immobile.
“Imagine you’re like two, three times the size you are now. How would you reach around to wipe your a**? How would you stand to pee?
“My dad… I don’t give him the credit he deserves. The guy literally took care of me like I was a child. He did everything. When I bathed on the back porch, he was bringing buckets of water to fill this giant trough. He was out there sitting with me talking while I washed, he had a towel for when I get out, he would dump water on my head to help me clean the shampoo out of my hair.
“He would take my shoes off me and help me put on socks. He would help me pull my pants up, literally clean me after I used the bathroom if I needed it, which I always did.”
An emotional Casey confessed: “I hate even remembering all this stuff – but you don’t know when you’re gonna need to go to the bathroom. My body was on this whole weird schedule.
“So there would be times at 2 o’clock in the morning, I would wake up to go to the bathroom and I’d have to walk to his door, wake him up and say, ‘Hey man, I need your help. I went to the bathroom and I can’t do anything.’ It was so rough to live like that.”

But the incident that inspired Casey to turn his life around was when doctors told him he could pass away in his sleep.
After being stuck on the ground for 11 hours, Casey was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with sleep apnoea.
“They said, ‘Your body is not bringing in or pushing out enough oxygen, you’re literally very close to getting to a point of no return and dying.'”
In addition, the 800lb star had swelling in his legs, and was forced to use a CPAP machine while sleeping and use oxygen at home.
Doctors told him: “You could die pretty soon. You just won’t wake up.”
Casey admitted: “I had heard ‘you’re going to die, this is going to kill you, you’re not going to live’. But it’s just like, ‘drugs are bad. Weed will give you cancer’. It doesn’t sound real, because I’d just think, ‘I’m doing all right so far’. I just didn’t believe it. I was also in this lifestyle of being not happy but content.”
The star began attending his local gym to swim and walk in the pool, along with eating healthier, and managed to drop more than 100lbs on his own before signing up to My 3000lb Family and qualifying for bariatric surgery.
And though it hasn’t been an easy road, Casey confessed it’s all been for the best – and looks like a whole new man after shedding more than half his body weight.
Casey can now be found on YouTube and Instagram.
