But the pair took their obsession to a whole new level when they announced they were proud parents to two beautiful ragdoll kittens in 2021.
Now, the 26-year-old has shared her thought process behind the adorable names for her new members of the family in an exclusive interview with Daily Star.
The brunette beauty explained: “Albus is named after Albus Dumbledore but his full name is Albus Dumblepaw as Sam calls him and then this is Cedric named after Cedric Diggory who’s played by Robert Pattison in Harry Potter.
“So we always knew Albus was going to be Albus because of he was the white one [in the litter] and he matched his white hair but we were trying to think of a name for the second one.”
The TV star went on to reveal some of the names the pair were considering before they settled on the beloved Hufflepuff character.
She went on: “I didn’t really like Severus, Sam was like we should name him Severus after Severus Snape but I didn’t feel like I could envision myself shouting, ‘Severus, come for dinner’.
“So we went with Cedric and he really is a Cedric because he’s like a grumpy old man, beautiful Cedric.”
Zara is currently working alongside Mars Petcare and Battersea Dogs & Cats Home to raise awareness of the challenges that tenants and landlords face when it comes to renting properties with pets.
Currently, Zara and her boyfriend Sam live with their two beloved cats and couldn’t imagine their home without them.
The reality TV star – who also allows people who rent her homes to live with their furry friends – shared her advice for fellow landlords looking to allow pets into their properties.
She said: “You do have some understanding and empathy for landlords, I wouldn’t want to see my property damaged.
“I also know that a lot of the time, tenants with pets are willing to pay a slightly higher deposit, there are insurances you can get and tenants with pets are more likely to sign a longer lease.
“It’s all about taking things on a case-by-case basis, you know, meeting the tenant and meeting the pet.”

She went on: “I just think for me as a landlord, I would rather there be a pet in my property than in a pet shelter.
“As a cat parent to Cedric and Albus, I know first-hand just how much joy pets can bring to life every day.
“The thought of loving pet owners having to choose between remaining in their home and keeping their pet is just awful, which is why I’m so pleased to be working with Mars Petcare and Battersea to help pet owners get clued up with the Petiquette Guide to Rentals and Pet Ownership.”
