Arnold Schwarzenegger fills in pothole as neighbours fume over storm damage

Arnold Schwarzenegger was seen on the streets of Los Angeles filling a pothole after the huge obstruction was left unattended for months.

The Hollywood star grew fed up with the enormous obstacle and decided to take matters into his own hands.

Arnold was pictured with a shovel in his hand as he got down and dirty on the streets of his L.A. neighbourhood.

He later took to Twitter to share a video of himself filling in the pothole, along some pals by his side to help him load in the concrete.

On a road in the Brentwood area, Arnold recorded himself patting down the concrete as a white car pulled up beside them.

A woman shouted from her car window and thanked the group for their efforts as they told her “you’re welcome”.

Arnold then addressed the woman directly and said: “This is crazy. For three weeks I’ve been waiting for this hole to get closed!”

Schwarzenegger, looking as suave as ever, channelled his former Terminator role with a pair of sports shades, a leather jacket and working boots.

A spokesperson for Schwarzenegger said that Brentwood residents “made repeated requests” for the pothole to be repaired, a neighbourhood wide plea that has been ongoing since winter storms left cracks and potholes in their wake.

Since 30 December, it has been reported that 19,692 requests were made.

In his tweet, Arnold wrote: “Today, after the whole neighbourhood has been upset about this giant pothole that’s been screwing up cars and bicycles for weeks, I went out with my team and fixed it.”

“I always say, let’s not complain, let’s do something about it. Here you go.”

Fans and friends flocked to praise the former Governor of California for making the neighbourhood a safer place.

One replied to his tweet and wrote: “Love to see it, former Gov. out fixing potholes.”

Another added: “Great job,” and a third grateful fan chimed in: “One of the greatest role models in modern history…plain and simple! [Schwarzenegger] is a true inspiration.”

A fourth jokingly called Arnold “The Tar-minator” while some simply thanked the actor for taking time out of his day.
