Cult 90s TV series Baywatch is set for a sensational return to our TV screens some 22 years after it was axed.
The lifeguard drama, which ran from 1989 to 2011 and propelled Pamela Anderson into worldwide fame, also starred several other household names including David Hasselhoff, Carmen Electra and Yasmine Bleeth.
Now, production and distribution company Freemantle is reportedly in talks to resurrect the programme in a modern-day reboot.

According to Deadline, the British firm has already held talks with potential broadcasters and streaming platforms.
The series, which followed the lifeguards on the beaches of California was originally cancelled after just one season before swiftly returning to become the most viewed show of its day.
At its peak a staggering one billion people tuned in every week as it became a pop culture juggernaut with clothing and merchandise commonplace amongst teenagers and adults alike.
But after moving from the west coast of America to the sands of Hawaii, Pearson Television North America announced it was ceasing production in 2001.
President and CEO Brian Harris said at the time: “The economics associated with bringing the program back could not be justified.

“It has been an amazing success story, but over the last couple of years, one wouldn’t have been surprised with this announcement. This is a logical and natural end to the show.”
According to the Daily Mail, Freemantle previously pondered the reboot as far back as 2018.
At the time International COO Bob McCourt told Deadline that a remake had “definitely been discussed”, but the mixed reaction from the 2017 movie starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron caused doubts.
“I think we thought the film might have given us reason to reboot the TV series, but given the mixed reviews that didn’t happen straight away,” he said.
“I think if this remastered version is sold extensively and a new audience comes to Baywatch, then it will give us a real indication as to whether a new series could be successful.
“We would definitely think seriously about making a new series and maybe we’ll get approached by some broadcasters about making one.”
