The star, 61, also opened up about facing his own mortality as he admitted he has realised he won’t reach his 80th birthday due to the disease.

To try and raise awareness about the disease, Michael has been opening up about his experiences with having the illness and the everyday battles he faces, as he spoke on CBS Sunday Morning.
In a preview of the chat, he said: “My life is set up so…I can pack Parkinson’s along with me if I have to.”
He added: “You don’t die from Parkinson’s. You die with Parkinson’s.”
Michael said that knowing that an injury or a cold could prove to be fatal has changed his approach to life, as he has accepted his own mortality and wants to make the most of his life now.
He added: “I’ve been thinking about the mortality of it… I’m not gonna be 80.”
The actor also opened up about coping with the symptoms of the disease, which has worsened over time.
He said: “I’m not going to lie, it’s getting hard, it’s getting harder.
“Every day is tougher. But, but that’s — that’s the way it is.”
Michael is married to actress Tracy Pollan, who he met on the set of Family ties in 1985.
The pair married in 1988 and share four children together; son named Sam, twin daughters Aquinnah Kathleen and Schuyler Frances, and another daughter named Esmé Annabelle.
Michael also revealed his wife’s sweet response when he told her about his diagnosis, with the star saying she whispered “in sickness and in health”.
