Simon Pegg says he’s been through ‘a lot’ with Tom Cruise after Mission Impossible delays

Simon Pegg says he and Tom Cruise have been through ‘a lot’ together.

Both actors walked the red carpet at the premiere of the seventh instalment in the Mission: Impossible franchise, Dead Reckoning Part One in London’s Leicester Square.

The film will finally see a cinema release after production was first halted in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

But Simon, 53, who has played Benji Dunn in the fan favourite franchise from 2006, admits that he and his fellow co-star have been through a lot together whilst making the films.

Speaking to the Petrie Hosken show on TalkRadio, he admitted: “You know, I feel so close to my cast-mates on this film, because we’ve been through so much together. I just love hanging out.”

Simon added: “I get to go to new countries. I learn new skills. I hang out with some of the most awesome people I make the best friends.”

Although filming soon resumed as one of the first major productions to resume during the pandemic, an audio recording was then leaked of Cruise as he understandably reprimanded crew members who were not following COVID protocols.

Tom, 60, is both the main star and also a producer of the film, where he admitted that despite the delays he was determined to carry on making the movie for the rest of the crew.

When asked if he felt responsibility for the industry, Tom told TalkRadio: “Always. That’s why it was like, yeah, we stayed to do it, to make sure that we could make this film.

“It was a beautiful moment last night to be able to share with our cast and crew, you know, so that they know what they’re all accomplished.”

The actor is known for his adrenaline filled stunt works as unlike other Hollywood stars, he conducts many of the dangerous work himself, and he even broke his ankle on the set of Mission: Impossible Fallout in 2017.

Although this movie is no different, Tom admitted that he does gets scared when doing the work, although he doesn’t necessarily mind the feeling.

He told TalkRadio: “I think it’s not that I don’t get scared. It’s I don’t mind being scared. I don’t mind being a little nervous.”
