BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty has paid tribute to a dear colleague after he announced he was leaving the broadcaster.
Journalist and reporter Jonathan Blake had been one of the BBC’s top political correspondents, speaking to MPs and government ministers regularly.
As well as walking through the Houses of Parliament, Blake has also worked for the BBC’s World Service, as well as Newsbeat – a young adult news show on BBC Radio 1.

He has also been based in Brussels, New York and Washington DC throughout his career.
But in a post uploaded to his Twitter account, he announced he would be leaving the BBC for pastures new.
“Some news from me… After 16 years at the BBC and two decades as a journalist it’s time for change and a new challenge,” he wrote.
“Tough to say goodbye to so many fab friends and colleagues but thrilled to be joining the brilliant team at @HeadlandComms very soon!”.
Naga was one of the first people to offer her congratulations to Blake.
“Congratulations” At least we get to chat to you at BBC Breakfast this morning before you go. x,” she replied.
Jonathan responded to her Tweet, joking: “Thank you Naga! Yes, not quite done yet”, and a smiley face emoticon.
Several other renowned BBC journalists and personalities paid tribute to Blake.
BBC News presenter Martine Croxall offered her well wishes, saying: “Great loss to us, JB. Good luck!”
Similarly, US political correspondent Nomia Iqbal opened up about her friendship with the journalist.
“Blakey – my first ever friend when I joined Newsbeat all those years ago. You’re one the kindest, talented and smartest people I know.
“It’s impossible to find one negative about you! Congrats on the move!!”
