Former Coronation Street star Chris Fountain has issued an update to his loyal fans – a year since he suffered a stroke.
Tragedy struck last year when a blood clot on the brain, triggered by an undiagnosed hole in his heart, resulted in Scott, 35, suffering a mini-stroke.
The situation rendered Chris, who shot to fame playing Tommy Duckworth on the ITV soap, terrified and without the ability to speak.

Consequently, he was rushed to Royal London Hospital, where he spent over a week, with doctors diagnosing him with a Transient Ischaemic Attack (TIA).
But he’s since been committed to seeing a speech therapist and has managed to regain a whopping 90% of his talking ability.
He has also been dedicated to raising awareness of the condition and often keeps his followers updated on social media.
On Friday (August 11) the actor took to his Instagram Story to reflect on the past 12 months since his stroke.
Alongside a snap of himself in a hospital bed, Chris penned: “1 year ago today. Life can change in an instant, I’ve had to make a lot of changes but things have gotten so much better.
“Be as positive as you can be, live life to the full and do not give up, no matter how hard things get.”
He also filmed a short video on his Instagram Story where he shared his concerns, a year since his stroke, how he could “have another one.”
However, the brave soap star went on to say how “super proud” he is over his recovery.

“It’s kind of been a weird thing to wrap my head around,” Chris said of the one-year anniversary.
“Part of me is worrying thinking ‘am I going to have another one today’. But then part of me is also super proud of how I’ve recovered. My speech is pretty much back to normal, I’ve run a marathon, I’m fit again,” he added.
Chris is best known for two of his soap roles, first as Justin Burton in Hollyoaks before he swapped Chester for the cobbles and played Tommy Duckworth from 2010.
Chris was eventually sacked from the ITV soap after being unmasked as a YouTube rapper who had used lyrics that appeared to praise violence against women.
After the scandal, Chris has shared his regret at his actions as said he’s “ashamed and embarrassed” and called the rap a “moment of madness as a young man”.
