BBC star forced to apologise after ignoring Naga Munchetty as she admits ‘he’s done’

BBC Breakfast star Stav Danaos was forced to apologise after accidentally ignoring Naga Munchetty on Saturday (August 19).

Naga, 48, teamed up with regular co-host Charlie Stayt for the latest edition of the BBC programme, sharing the top news stories with viewers across the country.

They were joined by meteorologist Stav Danaos who presented the latest weather updates over the coming days.

But the rarely seen star was caught in an awkward blunder after only addressing Charlie, not realising Naga was sat next to him on the red sofa.

The broadcaster, 60, handed over to Stav to share his latest report, before the 45-year-old passed back to the studio, saying: “That’s your forecast. I’ll see you tomorrow. See you later, Charlie”.

Charlie took an extra long look at the screen before replying: “Bye bye Stav”.

“Have a good weekend, Stav,” laughed Naga as Charlie joined in with a chuckle.

Stav quickly defended the mistake, responding: “Oh and Naga, sorry I didn’t see you there! I thought when Charlie handed to me on his own…”

Seeing the light-hearted side of things, Naga replied: “Yeah I know. We’re back together on the sofa now”.

Charlie chipped in: “We can all say goodbye together!,” as both Naga and Stav giggled.

As the time was only 9:15am, the radio host questioned if they would be seeing Stav later in the programme, but the meteorologist confirmed he was finished for the day.

“He’s off, he’s had enough,” added Charlie before Naga agreed: “He’s done”.

It comes after TV presenter Emma Vardy announced that she would not be appearing on any BBC Breakfast shows for the foreseeable future as she prepares to welcome her first child.

The 42-year-old had taken over from co-star Nina Warhurst, who is currently on maternity leave following the birth of her third child.

Sharing a photo on Twitter, Emma wrote in the caption: “Well that’s me off on mat leave!! Resigned to an eternity of housewife chores & dirty laundry. Career girl out. (And if u believe that you’ll believe anything).

“Celebrated the start of this new chapter with cocktails at this perfectly disguised speakeasy!! #TheWashhouse.”
