Freddie Flintoff is reportedly set to return to the BBC this winter to begin filming the second season of his cricket series, Field of Dreams.
The cricket legend suspended his television commitments while recovering from a severe accident during a Top Gear shoot in December 2022.
The frightening near-fatal incident resulted in Freddie sustaining broken ribs and significant facial injuries.

But it’s now said he’s recovered enough to lock in a filming date for Field of Dreams, a show dubbed his “passion project”.
A source to the Mirror: “Everyone is thrilled and relieved Freddie is gearing up to get back to work.

“We know how much this series meant to him.
“It was a passion project that was also loved by the viewers, so it’s great it will mark his return to the screen after what must have been an extraordinarily difficult time.”
Fans were thrilled to seehis first public appearance since the crash in Cardiff over the weekend, when he coached the England team against New Zealand.
The broadcaster appeared content during the Southampton match on Saturday (September 9) as he interacted with fans.

His ex-teammate Stuart Broad said: “I saw him at Cardiff. He was in really fine form.”
Insiders have recently suggested Freddie will commence production on Field of Dreams in the coming months, as he has sufficiently recovered to establish a definite filming schedule.
In the initial series, Freddie revisited his hometown of Preston, Lancashire, with the aim of convincing young people that cricket is a sport for everyone, not just those from affluent backgrounds.

The show garnered significant success, prompting the BBC to confirm a second series in October last year.
In the upcoming season, some of the original young participants will make a return, joined by newcomers, and the entire group will embark on a tour to warmer destinations as a way to avoid the harsh British winter.
When announcing the second season last year, the 45-year-old father-of-four stated: “Working with the boys was one of the most incredible experiences of my life but the work is not finished yet!”
